Role Overview

As a QA Engineer at Tram Case, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our software is reliable, scalable, and delivers a seamless experience for users. You will build and maintain automated test frameworks, identify and prevent regressions, and collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to improve overall quality. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across the development lifecycle, has strong attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

     Testing & Automation

• Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites for web applications and APIs.
• Expand test coverage to prevent regressions and reduce manual testing overhead.

Quality Assurance

• Develop and execute test plans for new features and bug fixes.
• Collaborate with engineers to define clear acceptance criteria and edge cases.

Continuous Improvement

• Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable, repeatable deployments.
• Track, document, and communicate defects, working closely with developers to resolve issues quickly.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with product, design, and engineering teams to ensure features meet functional and quality standards.
• Advocate for best practices in testing, monitoring, and release processes.

Technical Proficiency

Must have experience with several of the following:

• Test Automation: Proficiency with tools like Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium.
• API Testing: Experience validating RESTful and/or GraphQL endpoints with tools such as Postman or automated scripts.
• CI/CD: Familiarity with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar for integrating tests into deployment pipelines.
• Bug Tracking & Reporting: Comfortable using tools like Jira, Linear, or similar to manage and communicate issues.
• Front-End Testing: Knowledge of testing libraries for JavaScript/TypeScript environments (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library).
• Cloud & Environments: Experience working with cloud-hosted test environments (AWS, GCP, or similar).

Qualifications

• Experience: 3–5+ years in software quality assurance, with a strong track record in test automation and manual testing of web applications.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, and defect management.
• Problem Solving: Ability to identify edge cases and anticipate user-impacting issues before release.
• Collaboration: Effective communicator who works well with engineers, designers, and product stakeholders.
• Proactivity: Comfortable introducing new tools, processes, or approaches to improve software quality.
